I had a bunch of pineapple and other general mead lees in this gallon jar.
I was emptying a .990 hyper ferment based off a pabst black label.
I was going to just let it clear and infuse fruit etc etc a little.
The mead was 1.00 even when I racked off to secondary a few days ago. Chunks of pineapple were in the lees along with all manners of yeast etc.
The Pabst after 1 month with amg and a bunch of yeast etc read .990.
But I fill the gallon and the pineapple that had dropped to the bottom on a 1.00 mead floated to the top of the .990 beer.
What's the logic here ? BTW there is active fermentation in this bottle now, but likely not when I put the beer in.
Cool.
