Rhett Axtell here, I have just stated this adventure of making mead at home. So far so good! I have had a ton of questions about my new hobby. I have a friend at work that has been brewing beer, wine, and mead on and off for 25+ years. At this point I have 4 different vessels activly fermenting all were started this past weekend. 6.5 gallon cherry mead, 5 gallon traditional mead both using 71b yeast. and two 1 gallon meads using Caramelized honey and 1118 yeast. I have multiple nutrients available and started staggering them into musts. All are actively bubbling away! Now for the waiting game. I hope it turns out drinkable. I have been fortunate enough to know how to research internet and videos on this subject. And most of all Now I am part of a community of like minded Mead Enthusiasts!! Thanks for having me.
