I'm stepping up to all grain, and was wondering approximately what the max kettle size I could use to boil on an average power gas stovetop.

I have only done partial mashes indoors, and have no problem getting 4.5 gal of wort to boil now.

Is boiling 10+ gallons of wort indoors a foolhardy idea?

Any thoughts?

It depends on how many burners you can reach and the power of your stovetop.

When I was at school I had a gas range and my pot fit over all four burners. I could reach boil from 70 degrees in 30 minutes or so. Now with my electric range and only reaching 2 burners it'd take me forever. I think I can go from sparge temps to boil in about 40 minutes or so.
