Most of the threads I've seen relating to this refer to mashing overnight (keeping the water/grains in the mash tun for an extended period of time). I'd be more interested to know if I can store my first/second runnings overnight, and boil the next day? If so, what's the optimal temperature I should keep the runnings?

Same question from a few days ago: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f36/mash-today-boil-tomorrow-513119/

Looks like it'll be fine, just run off into your kettle and cover the top with some plastic wrap or something to seal it up. Shouldn't need to worry about maintaining a temp or anything through the night, I guess if you wanted to you could bring it up to 180ish? or something, kill the heat, then cover it and go to bed.
