Malt/Hop Bill Feedback

Doing a VERY simple 5 gallon 20 minute extract APA tomorrow. Any feedback would be appreciated.

-6.5# light DME (~1.057 OG)
1 oz. Chinook 20 minutes
1 oz. Cascade 15 minutes
1 oz. Cascade 10 minutes
1 oz. Centennial 5 minutes

Am open to any change, have Columbus and Mosiac at my disposal as well. The above hop bill is estimated at ~54 IBUs.

I would move at least an ounce to 1 min for more aroma. And 54 IBU while not absurd, is a little on the high end for an APA, if you dont want it more bitter than average, I would aim for around 40. (moving some hops to a 1 minute addition will probably do that anyway.)

Centennial and cascade is a classic combination, theres nothing wrong with that.

Your hops look good to me. If anything you could push each addition back 5 minutes - so you have a 15 - 10 - 5 - 0 minute(s). That would drop your IBUs back a hair also. However, I will say that it is my experience that late hopping / hop bursting never seems as bitter as the IBUs would indicate, so when I do it, I always shoot for the very upper end of the range. In fact, for my tastes, doing this seems to leave the beer lacking slightly in bitterness. So I have taken to getting 30-50% of the IBUs from a 60 minute addition, and then hop bursting at the end for the remaining IBUs and for maximum flavor.

Having said all that, I am sure that your recipe will be fine as is. I don't really think 5 minutes either way make a huge difference.
