I'm planning to make an IPA. What do you guys think of this recipe?

volume: 12 liter
OG: 1.087
exp fg: 1.027
exp ABV: 7.8%

Bitterness: 86 IBU
Color: 18 EBC

boiltime: 90 min

fermentables
3.3 kg Pilsner
0.8 kg pale ale
0.5 kg caramalt (30 EBC)
0.1 kg oat flakes

Hops
20 g Columbus (15,8%) @ 60 min
30 g E.K. Goldings (4,9%) @ 30 min
30 g E.K. Goldings (4,9%) @ 15 min
40 g Citra (14,1%) flame out

70 g Citra (14,1%) in secondary

herbs
20 g sweet orange peel @ 60 min

The final gravity looks extremely high for an IPA. You didn't list what yeast you're using, but the numbers say 68% attenuation, which is pretty low. Most yeasts will give you better attenuation and a lower FG, which would be good. Were it my beer, I would cut the caramalt in half, mash low (148-150ish), use a hungry yeast and move the orange peel and 30-minute hops to flameout and/or dry-hop.

I used the Danstar BRY-97.... So a nice yeast for an IPA.
It stopped eventually at FG 1,014 so I'm happy with that :)
some residual sweetness, but not to much. It's now in the bottle waiting to be ready and nice and fizzy ;)
