So I got into homebrewing this year...

I tend to dabble in electronics... just a bit.

Saw the threads on home automation. Love a few of them, dont have parts for others. You know it happens

So I dumped out some extra parts:

left overs from my garden automation stuff, I figure if i pick up a decent SSR, I can make my brew days better

(this is not all the left overs, I got a 12vdc 90a psu and tons more)

I plan on using the Beagle Bone Black as the "pc" with esp8266's and weird stuff.

Thoughts?

Just do it! But this time, make sure you finish it or don't start at all. Don't let it be like your garden automation project - unfinished. If you going to do this, make sure you plan to finish it. Else it's a waste if you leave it unfinished. So if you decide to do it, make sure you plan to succeed.

Actually I finished the garden project. And then realized. Wow I got a lot more than I needed.

If you can do garden automation, you can do automatic beer brewery for sure. I havn't done it, but from reading it seems the same concept - make life easier. There's CrafBeerPi for the software side that's already done. You just do the hardware for it and it's good to go - http://web.craftbeerpi.com/
