For my last Hefe, I added a half pound of clove honey during the boil and am soaking the zest of 3 lemons in vodka to pitch in the primary in a week or so. Whatever. Experimenting is the fun part!
Next time you make it increase the fermentation temps. If you're using the Weihenstephan strain you can get some nice banana notes with increased ferm temps.
I second homebrewtastic's advice - that's the way I like it - LOVE that recipe. save the fruit for the glass. Plus, you aren't stuck with the whole batch being that way if you dont like it.
