I recently got a bag of some denali hops to make the RR row 2 hill 56 clone (replacing the simcoe with denali) and have tons of this left and was wondering if there is anyone experienced pairing this hop with others such as citra, Amarillo, cascade, simcoe, galaxy, etc.

I have searched and searched for "denali pairings" and come up empty handed, there are a few post about people using them, however most do not have feedback comments other than just the hop alone, or a reference to the xBeeriment using them some time ago.

They honestly have a unique type of taste to me, and I would THINK that a mosaic/denali would pair well as would the aforementioned hops (or any fruit type, citrus hop), but what I am looking for is more of a "I tried them with _____ and it was good/bad, and I would have done_____"

I have an American IPA I will keg this weekend, where I dry hopped with Denali, Azacca, Motueka and Riwaka. Around 10 oz ( 300 gr ) hops were used for dry hopping, so I will post any results regarding flavour, aroma and taste.

Hopefully, you will get an idea how they pair with similar hops as the ones I used.

But based on what I have read on Denali, they should pair wonderfully with Mosaic, Amarillo, Yellow Sub, etc.

So I tasted from that beer dry hopped with Denali and the rest of the hops from my last reply.

The beer is light orangy, with mellow mouthfeel. The aromas I get from the beer are light, fizzy sweet oranges, tangeringes, peach and stone fruit. This is directly from the keg.

I will bottle as well, as I think this is the kind of beer, which will benefit from bottle conditioning. Maybe 2 weeks more.

But I can imagine Denali ( and the rest ) being used as often and as much as any other " popular " hop.

I kegged a Denali and citra IPA I did last week (bittered with centennial), and tapped yesterday. The flavors I got from that is a lot of peach, some slight mango, and a little bit of orange. the flavor is delicious! In case anyone else searches for this hop. the hop schedule looked like this:
1oz centennial at 60
.5 oz Citra & .5oz Denali at 15 min
1oz citra & 1oz Denali at 10
1oz citra &1 oz Denali at flameout (steep from the second I turned the flame off until I chilled to 75, so about 20 min or so)
1oz Citra & 1.5oz denali dry hopped after fermentation and transfer in secondary for 3 days, then cold/crashed for 3 more days (so 6 days total).

I think next time, if I try this combo again, I would add some simcoe in the mix (all 3 at 1/3 ratio each all the way through), as I did not get ANY pine out of the Denali like the descriptors said
