After pouring LME into boiling wort, I usually rinse out the remaining extract by carefully dipping the can into the wort, grab a little, swish it around in the can and pour it back into the wort. But since these were plastic screw-lid containers and not pull-off-lid cans, I figured what better way to get the remaining extract out than to dip it in the boiling wort, screw on the lid and shake it? However, I neglected to read the warning on the side of the container: "YOU IDIOT! DO NOT GATHER A SAMPLE OF BOILING WORT IN THIS CONTAINER THEN SCREW ON THE LID AND SHAKE IT!!!

Fortunately, when the container exploded in my hand, the lid and the majority of the scalding liquid shot away from me. Got some on my hands and arms, but thank God, that was all.

That is definitely a good warning label, seen that one many times, luckily no major injuries

Yep, I always swish hot wort in the plastic container with the lid on and the container always swells up but never explodes.
