I am wondering if or how light can damage a cider. I know it causes skunkiness in beers by reacting with the hops, which cider generally lacks. If light does damage cider, is it just UV light or will light bulbs cause damage also?
Thank you.

My best guess would be to try and keep light away from it as it can cause problems (wine has no hops and it is kept out of light). Just throw a blanket over the bucket or put a dark shirt over your carboy. I use an old button down and it works really well. I wrap the arms as to block light from the neck of the carboy.

CF bulbs and tubes will create UV, so if you have those definitely cover up! Good luck!
