This is my first attempt at a recipe. The goal is a light bodied ale with a bit of caramel malt and moderate bitterness with a strong, fruity hoppy aroma. My LHBS helped me a bit with the malt profile to get what I want.

Please let me know what you think!

Type:
Partial Mash

Grain:
4 lbs pale DME
2 lbs Maris Otter
0.5 lbs Crystal 30
0.25 lbs Munich Malt
0.25 lbs Vienna Malt

Hops:
1 oz Chinook (60min)
1 oz Citra (10 min)
1 oz Topaz (5 min)
0.5 oz Citra (Flameout)

1 oz Mosiac (Dry Hop 7 days)

Yeast:
White Labs WLP001 California Ale Yeast

Specs:

Original Gravity 1.046
Final Gravity 1.011
ABV Standard 4.59%
IBU Tinseth 46.67

It looks good. What temp are you mashing at? For my session IPAs I tend to mash very low to dry them out. I personally think the dry brew helps the hops shine through. (Since this is a partial mash, I guess the mash temp of the MO and other grains would have less of an effect, but I am not sure if I am thinking straight). My friends often say my brews are too dry so take that with a grain of salt. For the same reason (not liking sweet IPAs) I also do not use Crystal. But your 7% seems reasonable. Let us know how it comes out. I am especially interested in the Topaz Citra combo. Sounds good.

I was going to mash at 155*F for 60 min. I want a bit of sweetness to accentuate the tropical fruit flavours I am trying to accomplish with the hop profile, which is why I added the Crystal. I do understand where you are coming from with the dryness working with the hop flavour though - I hope my grain bill will achieve that.
