Completed a small collection yesterday. Never had KtG, but kabert is one of my favorite beers of all time and Special Kay is probably my favorite beer from de Struise. Hope they have hold up well.

I remember when the swingtops people traded for came out. Then like a week or two later when the swingtops were spread throughout the country people found out they were infected.

Sadly I was one of those people who acquired a swingtops that ended up being infected. If memory serves me correct I think Cycle even offered an exchange for a different swingtop beer. I never took them up on it since it seemed silly to ship an empty growler back, have a friend exchange it for the good beer, then ship it back again.


EDIT: weren’t those 500ml swingtops only like $10 too?!? I remember it being VERY affordable by today’s stout standards.

I found an article from late 2013 that talks about the infected batch of Rare DOS. If you purchased infected bottles, you could ask for your money back or get growler bottles of Batch 300. The bottles were $20. JM03 knows this experience a little too well.

This is a beer ive never had but enjoy plain old expedition enough that I want this BA version.

I saw on facebook places in our area are selling it on black friday...so its gotta be in our area. So I called the wholesaler who distributes it and they said the Bells truck just made their monthly delivery and there is no BA expedition.

This is why I dont do beer shopping/buying in PA anymore unless its directly from/at a brewery.

it’s way over priced for one. how can it be $26+ next to better half and backwoods for much less. even worse is those are available in 4 packs. i bet it would move quite a lot quicker in $20 4-packs
