Hey folks, I just picked up my new kegging system over the holidays. I've got a batch of beer ready to keg so I started out testing the new system. I was able to clean it out and get gas put to it, no leaks. Spray some Star San around all the fittings and such, no bubbling. However, when I connect the beer line, I get a steady stream of water leaking out from under the quick disconnect. Its like it isn't seated properly, but I can't seem to push it down any further. I had replaced the o-rings on the posts already. I saw this topic here in the FAQ:
https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f11/need-source-washer-inside-ball-lock-quick-disconnect-73269/

Could these o-rings be the problem? I went ahead and bought some, but where do they go?

Thanks for helping a newbie out here.

If your missing the inside washer, beer will shoot out of the top of the disconnect. You can always unscrew the top and check it out. I would recommend some keg lube around the post o-ring.

Clean/lube or replace the O ring on the post. If the beer comes out the top, You might try to tighten the cap on the disconnect or clean/inspect/replace the seal inside.

Can anyone give me a size of what the post's o-ring should be? Maybe I have the wrong size. The water is definitely not coming out of the top of the QD. Its coming from somewhere inside the QD/post area, and only when the line is connected. The post is completely dry otherwise.

I tried a few different things tonight hoping to fix this. I tried a few different sizes of o-ring, still leaks. I disassembled the QD, everything was where it needed to be there but replaced the o-ring in there anyway, still leaks. I cleaned up the post and put another o-ring on and tried again, still leaks. I think I'm going to have to replace the post? I'm not really sure what else could be leaking. This is kind of a bummer. Oh well, time to break out the bottles and start washing!

Shouldn't have to replace the whole post.

Did you check under the post to see if the dip-tube O ring is in place. Also make sure that your quick disconnect is fulling seating and locking. Sometimes they don't click without a bit of lubrication.

Nope, didn't check the dip tube. I'll have a look at that in the morning. How do I know the QD is fully seated? I don't have any keg lube around, is there a substitute I could pick up at the grocery store or something?

Vaseline works fine, it's food safe. It does not take much, just t thin smear. I'd agree with McKBrew that your dip tube O ring should be looked at.
You will know the difference when the QD fits properly. You will get the same feel on the gas side, so try that one to get a feel.

I haven't trued, but beer/gas connects are a little different (as are the post). Gas post should be star shaped or have notches, and the beer post looks regular. Grey is gas, black is beer... Just covering the basics. Good luck!
