Sorry I moved this from fermentation

So i have my first ever batch of mead going right now and I realized that I used a type 7 plastic container instead of 1 or 2... Now the jug I have I got from a friend and it doesn't have a company name on it so there is no sure way of telling what kind of plastic it is, how likely is it I'll have some leach into my batch and how can I tell if it did? I have a glass Carboy I can transfer into but when should i because I'm worried about disturbing the primary. Help???? Thanks

I can't answer the technical part of your question, but in terms of what to do next, I'd go ahead and transfer to the glass carboy when active fermentation is done. I wouldn't be so worried about leaching that I rush it, but I also wouldn't let it sit past the active fermentation stage.
