Lbs of grain -> gallons?

I'm designing a hopper and base for my new grain mill. I have a 4 gallon bucket that I got from a bakery. How many pounds of grain should fit into a 4 gallon bucket? I am wondering if I should design it around a four gallon bucket, or if I will need to get a 5 gallon soon. This will also help me determine how large the hopper should be.

I use a 23L (6 US gallons I believe) bucket to collect the crushed grain from my mill and it's around half full on an average recipe.

I have an 8 gallon bucket I use for my Barley Crusher. It works for 10 gallon batches which is 22 to 32 lbs.

If you are doing 5 gallon batches A 4 gallon bucket should do just fine.

If anyone is interested, a gallon holds 5 lbs of uncrushed barley almost exactly.
