Hey, just want to pitch a recipe by you guys for a brew I am going to do tomorrow, let me know what you think, whether it will create a nice easy drinking lager or not?

5 gallon finish

Mash
4 oz. Flaked Wheat
1 oz. Belgium Aromatic Malt (Mild Aroma, why not!)
2 oz. Flaked Oats
2 oz. Rice Hull
1 oz. Amber Malt (Slight Red Hue, Cause I like a good red tinge)
1 oz. CaraBeldge (Mild Biscuit Flavour, thought I'd give it a go)

Wort
(60min)
4 lbs. Pilsen Light
0.5 oz. East Kent Goldings

(30min)
0.25 oz. East Kent Goldings

(20min)
0.25 oz. Mt. Hood
1/8 oz. Glazed Orange Peel (Aroma)
1/2 Tsp. Crushed Coriander Seeds (Aroma)

(10 min)
0.25 oz. Mt. Hood
1/8 oz. Glazed Orange Peel (Aroma)
1/4 Tsp. Crushed Coriander Seeds
Pinch of Moss

(5min)
Wyeast Nutrient

Chill down to 50*F

Pitch
Dry Lager Yeast Saflager W-34/70

What are your thoughts, should I make any adjustments?

Appreciated

Lagers are honestly not my best known style but I don't really care for the coriander or orange peel. The recipe could be simplified a bit but honestly everything in there is in such small increments they won't really make much of a difference IMO.

you've got a lot of different malts but such small amounts they won't really impact much aside from a little color impact

what kind of flavor profile are you going for? in general a more simple recipe = a more drinkable beer

what style of lager are you trying to create?

the rice hulls are unecessary

I'm looking for something easy drinking with a nice colour and some hints of the ingredients my wife and I enjoy being the orange and mild spice.
I don't mind dropping the rice hulls, and like I said I'm just looking for hints of the extras

6-8oz of aromatic malt would add some nice maltiness and add some red color, maybe a pound or 2 of some vienna malt as well

you could just extend the steep to 60min and perform a mini-mash to convert the vienna and aromatic

i wouldn't get too complex if you really want the spices in there, i can't comment on the spice additions/amounts

you prob won't notice much from 1/4oz EKG at 30min so either drop it or add it at 10 or 20min instead

So I just wrapped up the Brew, and for anyone who is interested and would like to comment I ended up doing the following:

Mash/Steep 1 gallon for 30 min at 155:
4 oz. Flaked Wheat
1 oz. Belgium Aromatic Malt (Mild Aroma, why not!)
2 oz. Flaked Oats
2 oz. Amber Malt (Slight Red Hue, Cause I like a good red tinge)
1 oz. CaraBeldge (Mild Biscuit Flavour, thought I'd give it a go)

Wort topped up to 3 gallons
(60min)
4.5 lbs. Pilsen Light
0.5 oz. East Kent Goldings

(30min)
0.35 oz. East Kent Goldings

(20min) add 1 gallon
0.25 oz. Mt. Hood
1/8 oz. Glazed Orange Peel (Aroma)
1/2 Tsp. Crushed Coriander Seeds (Aroma)

(10 min) add 1 gallon
0.25 oz. Mt. Hood
1/8 oz. Glazed Orange Peel (Aroma)
