I'm getting ready to brew my first lager. I'm going to use the Narziss method of 44degrees then finish at 50(primary). My question is, do I need to do a diacetyl rest before the next step? My next step would be to bottle them and do the lagering in the bottles. I don't have any kegs. Do I carb these up (I'm assuming that part is a yes) at room temperature or do I have to lager and carb these at 34-40? Any input on this would be helpful. It's an Octoberfest.
Thanks,
Don

You may need a diacetyl rest. Some yeast strains produce a ton of diacetyl, and some don't, but a diacetyl rest would be fine to do regardless.

I'd bottle them, let them carb up at room temperature, and then lager them in the bottle. You could lager them first, but they won't carb up at fridge temperatures.
