i am brewing an Octoberfest (brewers best) partial mash. the instructions say to ferment the first week between 48 and 53 degrees. i have an extra fridge in the garage that i keep beer in but it only gets up to 42 on its warmest setting( i know what your thinking but that project is still on the future list). after the first week it says to take it down a couple of degrees a day to around 35. thats not a problem. is the initial 42 degree fermenting period going to work?

If it works, it will ferment very slow. 42°F is at the bottom end of even the most resilient lager yeast.
