Safe to sanitize a spoon and scoop some of it off?

Not the best option but I don't exactly want a mess.

Guess my yeast aren't dead after all (they've been in my fridge for 7 months from the yeast cake of my last saison)
 
Oh man I didn't even mention, this is a starter on the stir plate. Theres nothing covering it but some loose aluminum and I turned the stirplate off. Krausen still high, almost to the top.
 
It made it to the very top, then the krausen collapsed on itself and fell, now it is normal.

Guess putting 2L of liquid into a 2L flask is risky business!
