Hello all, I'm Jimmy from Okinawa Japan. Well, from Ohio really, but have been in the Navy for 15 years and live on the beautiful island of Okinawa Japan.

I recently purchased my own brew kit and looking forward to it getting here! I've been brewing with friends for a couple years now and just now decided to do my own. I'll be starting off with full boil extract kits.

Looking forward to learning a lot (I have a lot to learn!). See ya'll around!

Jimmy

Right on, I live on Lester...work on Hansen.

I was a Corpsman for 11 years, but now a PA (Physician Assistant). Been here on Oki for 9 years now, 5 as a HM and 4 this time. Was working at the hospital, but now with 3rd Med Bn.

Thanks for the link and the welcome.

Excellent. We have only been on island for about a month now. My wife is an RN and hopes to start working at Lester after the holidays.

I have 5 kits (3 extract and 2 all grain) waiting to be brewed. I need to get busy but each weekend we end up snorkeling somewhere :ban:

That's cool, I know the hospital is always hiring nurses.

There's tons to see and do here, you guys will love it. A site that a lot of people use is Okinawahai.com I think. It has a ton things to do, places to eat, shop, etc. Posted by people here on the island.

You do all grain huh? One day I may get into that, but not sure if I'll do that here. May do a mini mash though. I'll do something like a red ale first I think. But I really want to do a barley wine soon since it'll have to age for a while.

That's what she has been told as well, hopefully it works out.

So far we have definitely loved it, just a little overwhelmed at the same time.

My next all grain will be my first LOL I bought a couple kits and have collected all the equipment I need just haven't put it all together yet. I stuck to extract while in San Diego.

Welcome to the site! My dad was stationed there during 'Nam. He has some stories to tell! Said his 55 Chevy was the fastest car on the island.
