I recently completed my home bar build, and used a 3 tap through the wall keezer build that @martianpc posted on here. It turned out great, but the first keg I put in the keezer froze after a day or so. I have the freezer on the lowest (warmest) setting without putting it on zero which the manual says is a defrost. Any suggestions to get stop the kegs from freezing, I have a party this weekend and need this bad boy ready to go! Help!

Here are picture of the set up:

First off, beautiful setup. Jealous.

But you need a temperature controller like http://www.amazon.com/dp/B011296704/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20 or the STC1000, Ranco etc. That Inkbird one seems like the cheapest option, I havent tried it out personally though.

There's a probe you tape to a keg or what not, then it cycles the freezer's power on/off to maintain temp. Put it back on the coldest setting. Should be able to set a compressor delay for longevity's sake.

Do you have a thermometer in the freezer?

What does it read?

Did you adjust the course adjustment screw?

Using a temp controller?

Beautiful build, just seems like a few details were missed in the keezer section of it.

+1 to a temperature controller. I really like the ITC-1000 temperature controller I mounted in a hobby box.

For the temp controller, make sure you tape the probe towards the top of the keg. Beer reaches maximum density at 3C, so if you tape your probe to the bottom of the keg and set it to ~2C you can end up with an ice layer on the top of your beer.

Beautiful setup :mug:

wow... beautiful bar setup!
yup, temp controller or the freezer will do exactly what it's supposed to...freeze

Ive always heard you could put the temp probe in water so you dont have to keep taking it on and off every time you change a keg.

This is true. Normally on the compressor hump so its more towards the middle where air is the most average temp.

+5 to the temp controller posts. Ive got the johnson for my fermenter and love it.

Also, you should start a post showing start to finish photos of that bar build cuz that thing is beautiful!

This is what I do. I put mine in a 2 liter bottle filled with water that has a small hole big enough for the probe drilled in the lid.

Beautiful bar!

But with a bar like that, what makes you think 3 taps is sufficient?

Thanks everyone for the suggestions, I purchased the ITC-308 off Amazon and it has been working great since Thursday.

@IslandLizard Haha the number of taps was actually a legitimate dillema I had during the planning process. Decided on three so I could have a standard lite beer, then have a rotating IPA, and Seasonal so it would force me to change them up more often and get a better variety! :mug: Cheers
