Just wanted to leave a comment about review. I am new to the homebrew scene and was looking for kegs. I could find lots of places that sell ball lock kegs for much cheaper, but they all say they simply dump the kegs and many reviews read about dents and other issues.

Now I don't expect a brand new keg but I don't want one that was pulled from the lake.

kegglebrewing.com has $55 kegs that they've cleaned (I see nothing at all), replace all the seals...and they have full rubber top and bottom, and they look like excellent used condition.

Hats off!

Pics or it never happened ;)

Hahah. Here you go.

i know right!...but still $55.

So of course I'm going to do my own clean and sanitize since we don't allow that to be done by others. But I don't plan to brew for about 2 weeks then of course there's the fermentation period. Should I just swish some PBW in there and let it sit for a few hours (overnight) and then seal them up with CO2? Sanitize right before they get filled?

The sanitize-before-filling is what I always do. And I've always cleaned new-to-me kegs and replaced all of the O-rings just on general principle - the math doesn't support risking a cylinder of gas to old seals.

Between uses I clean the kegs but don't bother sanitizing because I'm going to do a Star San purge before filling. And given degraded Star San allegedly becomes food for wee beasties I don't think leaving kegs with Star San residue makes much sense anyway. In your situation I'd just go ahead and clean the kegs and rinse them thoroughly, then pressurize them a bit so you can verify they're holding gas when you go to fill them...

Cheers!

I ordered 4 used "race track" style kegs from Terry. I must admit I had no idea what a race track style keg was but for $25ea it couldnt hurt.

Placed order late Sat night and I had an email with tracking info Sunday morning. Kegs arrived well packaged and under pressure with pressure relief valves.

Filling two kegs today!

Same here. I ordered on Sunday, they arrived just as described by you, on Tuesday. Couldn’t be happier.
