Ok, i know this is a common thread but it gets a little confusing for me. I brewed an IPA 3 weeks ago. It sat in the primary for a week and for the last 2 weeks its been in a secondary. I want to keg it tonight... Do i need to condition it, cold crash it? or anything like that? I was thinking all i have to do is raking it into the keg, setting it in the kegerator and force carb it for a week or 2 while i sample it.
 
Here is what I do: rack it to a keg, place it in my keezer, hook up the co2 at 30 lbs of pressure for 2 days. After the 2 days dial the co2 back to serving pressure and enjoy in a week.
 
I do exactly what titansvol does. If there are a lot of hop particles, I will cold crash overnight so the particles drop out. If I'm worried about clearing the beer up, I'll use gelatin after racking and prior to hooking up CO2. As soon as I put the gelatin in, I seal the keg, shake it up a bit, and hit it with CO2 at 30 PSI for 2 days then to serving pressure.

Regardless, if you simply rack from secondary to the keg and hit it with CO2, you'll be happy with the results.
 
Yup. I kegged it today and its in my kegerator getting fizzy. Thanks for the help.

I assume you already have a blanket of CO2 in the keg before you rack if you're shaking before you pressurize.

I just racked it over, purged the oxygen and hit it with 15psi. Its been in the fridge since. I think i will run it that way for 2 days then bring it to dispensing psi for... ever until its gone.
 
I had just sanatized the keg and fitting and lid. I didnt purge with co2 but i did rack without any splashes. My sample tasted great. I did a sixer of grolsch bottles. I think i under primed them. I didnt have any tabs so i boiled a couple grams of priming sugar in 1/4 cup and tossed it in with the bottom of the secondary then filled 6 bottles. I was unprepared for trying to bottle rack myself. Its tough trying to hold up the siphon off the swill and fill bottles on the floor with the other hand... A sight to see!
 
You can go higher than 15psi for a couple of days before dropping to serving pressure.

For sanitizing, I like put about half a gallon of sanitizer in the keg, put the lid on, and shake the heck out of it. Then I pressurize the keg and push the sanitizer through the serving line. This kills two birds with one stone. Your serving line is sanitized and you have a keg full of CO2 to rack underneath.

Yes - I didn't write the order right. I purge oxygen first (blast it with CO2), then give it a shake and reconnect the CO2 to force carb.
