I was given a 16 crate milk cooler. Was thinking of turning it into a kegerator. any suggestions. Is this a good idea? Bad idea?

A picture would help immensely. Not sure the dimensions/size of a "milk cooler".. as a general it's ALWAYS a good idea to install a kegerator :)

the dimensions are: 49 long x 33 wide x 41 high. and it weighs about 250 pounds.

Thinking about putting three taps right on the front. Should hold at least 2 1/2 kegs and a quite a few corney kegs. This thing when done could be the most expensive Home made kegerator ever. The retail on the milk cooler is $1,800. which i receved for "FREE". You know what maybe i should just sell this and use that money to pay for my whole build.

You could easily fit 12 cornies in there! Probably more if you crammed them in. That's an awesome score. Do you know what kind of temperature range the thing has?

33-38 degrees which is perfect and i can always alter that if needed. Its a nice hight also so i could realistically just pill the corny kegs in there. My biggest concern is the weight. its pushing 260 empty. lol i live in an apartment and would not be to thrilled to have to move it any time soon. but at least the moving party would enjoy.

Another idea I'm throwing around is putting the taps on the back side and putting some nice wood panelling over the exterior. that way the doors are not in the way when changing out kegs and so on.
