I recently kegged my first beer. I wanted to give the yeast a few days to finish cleaning up as I kegged after a week to open a fermenter up. I hit it with 12 psi to seal it and heard the gas go in then a couple days later I hit it with 12 psi again and I could hear the gas go in again. I let it sit for a few more days and today I hit it with 12 psi again, and again I could hear the gas go in.

Is this normal? Part of me thinks that the gas is diffusing into the beer so I can hit it with 12 psi again and hear gas go in. Another part of me thinks that it should sit at the same pressure after charging it. What is everyone's thought? I sprayed it with starsan and don't see bubbles and don't hear a leak.

Yes, its the beer absorbing the Co2. If you're not sure, hook up a serving line and pour some off. If its partially carbed you know where the Co2 is going

I think the gas is going into solution. I set mine at 10 psi and leave it on. Then in a couple of weeks it is properly carbonated. Or I set it at 30 psi for a day or so then purge and set to 10 psi which is my serving pressure.

I just shook the keg with 30psi hooked up to it and could hear the gas entering as it went into solution. Pretty cool
