keezer temperature probe

I have seen a lot concerning fermentation chambers but not much for keezers. What is the proper placement of the probe. Do I just wrap it of submerge it in a white labs vial etc. sorry if this has been answered just wanted a clear cut answer. I have an inkbird itc-308 controller.

As long as you're inside the chamber, you're ok. If you're sure you won't be leaving the door open by accident, submerging it in some liquid (if properly sealed!!!) will keep the compressor from cycling too much when you open the door. That's really not necessary though, I personally just let it hang free and have never had a problem.
 
For dispensing I keep it in a beer bottle full of water. For fermenting I attach it just at the top of the beer on the outside of the carboy. I figure it will keep the temperatures towards the bottom a little lower than the set point and account for some of the extra heat within the carboy due to fermentation.
 
I put my keezer probe on a sheet of reflectiv (to insulate it from the cooling coils in the freezer wall) and slip it down the corner next to one of the kegs. The bottom of the freezer is the coldest (because cold air falls) and that's where the beer dip tubes are. No frozen kegs desired. Keeping that just above freezing (reading at 35F) Just for fun I also put my mash probe in the opposite corner up high. It reads 45F.
 
I took a spaghetti sauce jar, filled with water, poked a hole in the top of the lid and submerged the STC-1000 probe in the water. Works just fine to buffer the temp reading (which is what you want).
