Keezer Temperature controller question

I have been looking at keezer conversions is it as simple as buying a cheap thermostat and plugging the power cord into the thermostat and then sticking the thermometer into the freezer?

Great i think i may have to go with the keezer setup because it seems like it is much to hard to find a suitable mini fridge. There are too many kegerator seeking homebrewers i love it!

Also does it matter if the C02 is on the inside or the outside of the keezer?
