just got done bottling...priming mistake?

So, I just got done bottling my first brew.

I primed about 4 oz in 2 cups of water and let it boil for a bit, then put half in the bucket. Then I filled about a 1/3 and put the other half in.

I however did not stir the bucket (since I read here that can add oxygen), but also did not leave the siphon on the side to create a whirlpool effect. I just let it hang in the center under the beer.

Am I going to have problems with undercarbonation and possible bottle bomb?
 
I never stir my beer in the bottling bucket. When I siphon into the bottling bucket, it mixes the sugars just fine.

I think that's what happened with my first batch. I got a lot of flat bottles, and some where very good, but no bottle bombs.

People with more experience may have some sugeestions or opinions for you.
 
no your beer will be fine. just keep in mind it takes some batches of beer longer to carb than others. even some bottles will carb faster than others. just be patent.
 
No worries, I've forgotten to stir mine numerous times and it always comes out fine. Racking onto the priming solution mixes it well enough.

You don't need to stir, the two liquids integrate well enough despites what some noobs might believe. It's not like you are dropping dry sugar into your bucket....

THe put half in then add second half later is to better integrate the solutions together.

You did fine...so relax and make sure they are in an warm place for a minimum 3 weeks and you'll be fine.
 
Best thing to do is to put the hose on the bottom so it swirls as you are racking, then put the carbing liquid and it will mix naturally. You should be fine and if it's your first batch and that is the only thing wrong you are off to a good start.

Just make sure you wait 2 weeks, taste one and then wait another week. The brew will taste much better one month after week 3 of carbing BUT - drinkable and welcome aboard.

Your process, while slightly flawed will come out OK because of the double edition.

The stuff mixes itself just fine. If you have inconsistant carbonation in bottles, it usually simply means, it's still too soon. When it is time they will all carb up. Just make sure they are above 70 degrees and you've waited at least 3 weeks. It wouldn't hurt to upend the bottles to lift the yeast back into suspension though.

Oh, I might open one or two for the superbowl, but I know I should wait another week. It's just that beginners twitch.

Good. I wasn't sure what the best way to mix was. I was thinking it was fine until I realized the hose was under the surface dead in the middle, not making any kind of vortex/whirpool, etc.

I'll make sure I have it swirl the next time. But this is good to ehar.

It might not be the only thing I did wrong, but I read on here a lot and tried my hardest not to post a "did I do XXXX wrong" thread, but this was my only main worry.

The ones we tried this weekend had been sitting in a 75 degree room for 8 weeks, and 3 weeks ago I upended them to get the yeast back in suspension hoping to get better carb. Then put them in the fridge 5 days ago.

One out of the 6 were carbonated.:( They tasted very good, but I really missed the carbonation.
