Elements of Composition B1 this Friday.

500 bottles @ $28, limit 1.

Looks like I'll never get to try this.

Sounds like a perfect opportunity for you or someone in your friend group to drive down and buy one at retail?

I considered it for about .000056 seconds, but I’m already going to Tulsa on Saturday to pick up my orders and member bottles from American Solera. I’ll stop at Prairie in OKC along the way for the Pirate Paradise release as well.

Taking the day off on Friday, sitting around/waiting in line, and driving 6 hours round trip for a single bottle of beer isn’t a good use of my time or money.

Jester King: "Finally!"

*looks at the sunrise*

JK: "The brewery is closed after a long weekend of releasees... we've got no visitors, no collaborations, and we've got all day to drink beer and finish this lawn work we've needed to do! Today is gonna be..."

*car door slams closed*

Scratch Brewing: "We're heeeeeere! Jester Kiiiiiing! Woo!"

JK: "Oh hey guys! We remembered you we coming. Totally!"

*Jester King brewer stares at leaves. Stares back at Scratch Brewing brewer. Jester King brewer stares at leaves....*

Well - how'd the cellar release go? Anyone who went? jeffstuffingsjk?

They switched to general admission for Sunday so I made a trip up Sunday afternoon and grabbed 9 Foudreweizen and 3 Uberkind. There was a lot left including BdBDBBD or whatever it’s called and several Aurelian which was surprising. I walked up, grabbed a box, grabbed my bottles and paid with no wait.

I’m pretty sure they’re going to either discount the remaining bottles or do another release cause there was a **** ton left at ~5pm.

Strikes me as a little odd.

Bottles that could easily have sold out when they were first released have been sitting in the brewery collecting dust and inventory tax and then when they are sold later, can't sell out.

What happened?

Often the brewery notes that bottles will only be available for sale to go or onsite consumption as well as "at special events." So there's a chance they were holding them to be poured at fests and events if they deemed it necessary. Its also common practice by many breweries to hold bottles back to revisit in case there are any QC issues as well.
