I considered it for about .000056 seconds, but I’m already going to Tulsa on Saturday to pick up my orders and member bottles from American Solera. I’ll stop at Prairie in OKC along the way for the Pirate Paradise release as well.

Taking the day off on Friday, sitting around/waiting in line, and driving 6 hours round trip for a single bottle of beer isn’t a good use of my time or money.

They switched to general admission for Sunday so I made a trip up Sunday afternoon and grabbed 9 Foudreweizen and 3 Uberkind. There was a lot left including BdBDBBD or whatever it’s called and several Aurelian which was surprising. I walked up, grabbed a box, grabbed my bottles and paid with no wait.

I’m pretty sure they’re going to either discount the remaining bottles or do another release cause there was a **** ton left at ~5pm.

Bottles that could easily have sold out when they were first released have been sitting in the brewery collecting dust and inventory tax and then when they are sold later, can't sell out.

Often the brewery notes that bottles will only be available for sale to go or onsite consumption as well as "at special events." So there's a chance they were holding them to be poured at fests and events if they deemed it necessary. Its also common practice by many breweries to hold bottles back to revisit in case there are any QC issues as well.

Jester King is opening a restaurant.

Hilbert described it as “a more casual accessible restaurant built on the cuisine of nomads and ancient peoples.” The restaurant will use grains and produce grown on the farm land, as well as animals raised on the property. It’ll serve up charcuterie, bread, roasted vegetables, dairy, and more.

They will be half of the beer dinner, along with our local guest pFriem, and will be bringing some special things for VIP as well.

Wow... actually maybe they mean 15% of the blend by volume should be the oak beer.

I was a little surprised by the low OG on a lot of these, but I guess it makes sense with how dry their culture finishes. Diastaticus!

I believe they mean 15% ratio of Uberkind oak aged blend is in the Wunderkind blend. Then 85% is fresh beer.

Where does one get myrica gale?

srs? it's easy to find. aka sweet gale or bog-myrtle it grows wild around parts of TX and can easily be ordered online. it makes for a very nice ingredient in beer. I used to get it from austin homebrew years ago.
