I am considering upgrading from fermenting in kegs to a conical fermenter. I would much rather have a jacketed conical for space reasons but are there any disadvantages in buying a conical at a capacity of less than 1bbl?

Also, I noticed that all Blichmann's come non-jacketed, I just assume it's to reduce their overhead, but they stand by the statement that you're better off using a fridge instead of a jacket. Is this true?
