I suppose the definition of 'hugely successful' is highly subjective. Around these parts, with a forum full of OGs, I believe the biggest success of the kickstarter was the tremendous accomplishment of alienating a great number of us (early supporters) from the jump.
His Kickstarter raised more money than any brewery ever. I think that's at worst a fair way to define a successful campaign and arguably the best way to define one.
Like him or not, fact is the dude set the bar for that sort of thing.
That said, I fully admit to being ignorant of pretty much all other specifics about him or his brewery.
