Just a little friendly reminder...if you already haven't brewed your Oktoberfest (brewed in March) brews...you're already 2 months late!

It's also about time to start brewing your Pumpkin beers for Turkey Day and your Christmas brews......you need time to let those spices mellow especially the cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, and ginger.

I got a jump on all of that late last year! That barleywine will be great in winter with a year of age on it. Then I'll start another. By the time that brew is ready, the other will have 2 years on it! I think I'll pass on a spiced beer this year. All the ones I've tried/made didn't impress me much. But as for the barleywine, strong ale, imperial anything, and doppelbock, bring it on!

Well, I'm still drinking Old Bog Water 2003 and 2005 is still fermenting in the keg, so I'm set.

Don't yet have laggering capability yet and I'm not big on specialty beers with pumpkin, spices and the like.

Go easy though is MHO - Any more than a tiny amount of the above spices and i reckon you should be thinking of Xmas 2007 before drinking them!

I scavenged ~4oz of spruce tips this weekend in the mountains. I'm planning to brew some type of spruce beer in the next couple weeks for Autumnal consumption.
