Soooo i bought this pump off ebay for 30 bucks and didnt realize how big it really was until i got it. Its a 1/2 hp pump at 600+gph with 1 inch inlet/outlet....I had noooo idea it was this big, hint why i put it next to my wonderful keystone! Is this pump over kill or can it work??

If you do end up using it, could you post a review of some kind? I am actually planning a 2bbl nanobrewery and something that size could be perfect for me.

Keystone light? Sorry, I can't address the pump issue while there's a bigger problem luming ;)

Based only on the specs you gave us, I see no reason why it wouldn't work, but it is smaller than my Little Giant 5.5-MD-HC which is not rated for the gpm or HP this one is listed for... there are surely some differences here than I am missing since you didn't post the brand or detailed specs.

Dont dog on the stones!!! its the "economy" beer until i finish my brew stand!!:mug:

Im at work now, so im not to sure what the brand is....The link above is the exact one i bought

epic fail!!!! i looked at the guys store for other products he is selling and found its a pacific hydro star pump...went and got specs...only rated for 85 degree water, what would happen if i ran 160 water through? blow some seals??

Honestly, that looks a hell of a lot like an effluent water pump. I has significant doubts it is rated for potable water at nominal temps, let alone high temps.

Can't see brand name or model number in the pics but it looks like uncoated cast iron inside the pump head?

Maybe build a water feature in the back yard...you know...like a guy peeing into a KeyStone can?...

I think that pump would be capable of powering a Paul Bunyan sized "Pee" statue...

Recirculating cooling water is not a terrible use. Or you can keep it wired up for anyone in the neighborhood with a flooded basement!

You could probably use it for refueling diesel tankers or fishing trawlers, no wait, the pump is too big for that too ...

:)
