Or is this an infection? There are clear bubbles now below the thick foam (those floaty thing are cloves and ginger).

And it is also now breaking through the foam in vein like streaks.

I hate to inform you, but you have an irreversible case of....fermantation.:) Every one looks a little different in its own special way. I wouldn't worry about it.
 
You are asking a bunch of abnormal folks to define normal :)

You're GTG, just fornicating yeast there...next time you might want to respect there privacy by not taking pictures and posting it on the net :)
 
See its posts like this that make me enjoy buckets that much more.... see no evil, is no evil.... but seriously, with every new brewer (myself including) freaking out over every little detail, I don't think I want to see a fermentation until several batches in.

But the above looked normal even to me from just seeing other pics on this board and others with more experience than me saying its fine.
 
+1 to I love fermenting in buckets so I've never seen something funky and freaked out.

Close the lid, open it in a few weeks and check out what I made.
