Second batch of kombucha is complete and I'm a bit worried about how the baby scooby looks. To me, it just looks kind of moldy and "un-healthy". (Although, I don't know if kombucha actually looks healthy at all at first glance haha).

Attached are the pictures, any help would be awesome! CHEERS! :mug:

The first picture is a little blurry, but are you referring to the brown pieces and bits? If so, then no worries! That is simply the bi-product of your yeast fermentation and your scoby is very healthy! As long as that black stuff doesn't appear "fuzzy" then you should be OK. No one ever said that scobies were a pretty thing to look at...

In the bottom picture - do you primarily use black tea in your brewing? That would explain the dark coloration.
 
+1 to the "Fuzzy" test.
Fuzzy = Nope

a little better pics of the concerning spots might help. But for the most part I agree with Spaceman, looks like discoloration from black tea and yeast.
