Is this fermentation chamber good?

So, finished my fermentation chamber today. Looks like this...

Took it down from 71F to 63F in 12.5 minutes. It overshot and got as low as 61F (not worried about this). It then reached 65F about 30 minutes later, when the compressor kicked on again. Is cycling on every 30-40 minutes respectable? The top has some gaps since it is slightly bowed and I gotta have some way to get the carboys in/out.

looks sweet! i'm planning something similar here soon. thanks for sharing... where did you get that temp controller?

The compressor will cycle far less once you have thermal mass (full carboys) in there.

Looks good. Gotta share some info on that temp controller

The controller is the tet612. I got it off ebay by this seller called apmmall.engineering who always has several listed at $38.99 shipping included. He packages them along with the k-thermocouple you'll need to measure the temperatures, and mine got here in 7 business days. The tet612 seems like a good basic controller, but the documentation for it is horribly translated from Chinese. To operate it in on/off mode like you need for a fridge, I used one of it's "alarm" relays which can handle 250 VAC @ 3A since my fridge only draws 125 VAC @ 0.9A. See this thread I started earlier about it.

Could you post more pictures of your wiring situation? I'm thinking of a very similar setup, thanks.

+1. 40 bucks for a digital controller, (with the dual use option - heat or cool), sounds pretty sweet....maybe if you did a quick writeup of how you actually wired and programmed it? (Either here or your other thread?)

Thanks!

Does this help?

Configuration is simple. Read the manual and put it in the 2 alarm, no PID control mode. Set it to display F instead of C (if you wish). Select the correct type of thermocouple. Test the thermocouple and add any offset required (I had to add 1 degree offset). Set AH2 to the maximum temperature (if temp goes above AH2, relay J2 closes and causes the compressor to turn on). Set AL2 to the minimum temperature (if temp goes below AL2, relay J2 opens and compressor turns off).
