I use that pot and usually do 3.3-gallon boils with it, and with foam control there is plenty of space to spare. You can probably do 4 gallons easily if you have a stove with enough BTUs to get that volume of water to a boil. So you won't quite get up to a full boil, but pretty close.

It's a very good, solid pot with a sandwiched bottom, which minimizes scorching. I recommend it.

I have a 5 gallon SS pot that I do 4 gallon boils in. The new stove we bought last year came with a "Power Burner" that is heavy duty! I'd say try a 4 gallon boil and see what it looks like, then adjust accordingly.

I did my first PM with that exact pot and used foam control and I probably only had to top off with 1/3 gallon or so, close enough for me to call a full boil IMO. I also topped off with boiling water throughout the wort boil to keep the volume up. Very high quality pot IMO for the price.

i like that one ! like the others i cant get that much to boil inside. i just want to do all i can with the LME kits before i invest in AG stuff and move outdoors !

I have the same (the imusa aluminum one) pot. Works great. Walmart has en equivalent pot for $30.
