Hi,

Just looking for some advice on whether to reuse a scoby which has been brewing on bench for 1month+.

I have compared it to a number of healthy and contaminated scobys online - and it seems ok? Don't want to risk it though.

Do scobys have a 'shelf life' if left continuously brewing and not being stored in a fridge?

Any help is appreciated,

Thanks!

It looks great! I store extra SCOBYs in a "SCOBY Hotel" and they last a very long time at room temperature, months and months and months. I "refeed" occasionally.

Looks good to me. In fact it looks kinda like ours.

We keep extra scobys and rotate them out from time to time. I don't think they have a shelf life as long as they don't get infected and are only subject to tea (not any kind of flavor additions like juice or fruit).
