Hi, this is my first time posting on here and only have 2 completed batches under my belt. My 3rd batch is in the 2nd fermentation right now. I keep it in a closet and just found out that the air-lock came off it (thinking from the dumb cat my wife wanted...). It could have been off for a couple days. I'm not really sure. Could my beer be infected now? How can I tell?

Thanks guys

You are far more likely to have oxidation issues than an infection...if it tastes like a green apple Jolly Rancher you will know.

One advantage of not moving beer to secondary is you have the protective layer of CO2 over the beer. Unless adding ingredients or ageing, no need to secondary. Only way you will know is to taste, but I'd proceed with bottling, it probably is fine. RDWHAH.
