I have 2 coopers kits (cerveza and canadian blonde) that I never got around to using last year. The "use by date" says April, 2010. Is the kit too old to produce some decent brew with? I'd like to use them but don't want to waste the time if they wont produce a decent batch.

I would brew it just get some differnet yeast or hydrate the yeast to see if its viable before you pitch it.What kind of conditions was the kit stored also? If it has cornsugar for part of the boil i would get some dme instead and use the corn sugar for botteling in the future. Then again the cornsugar can keep it dry and light bodied depending how much,if its a good amout it could make it taste cidery or odd just from hearsay

I have some Nottingham Ale Yeast that I intend to use with it which I just recently purchased, so I will not be using the old coopers yeast. It has been kept in our basement, around 70F.
