Are any of you out in HomebrewLand tired of the larger Craft Brewers flooding the market with traditional Seasonal Brews 2-3 months ahead of schedule? I fully understand the Market share/first to the taps, yadda-yadda-yadda...BUT the seasonality of brewing is one of its greatest traits! I'm getting tired of looking for a nice blueberry whit on a 90* day and my only choices are an Octoberfest or a Pumpkin... Just my 2 cents but was wondering if it bugged anybody else..

You buy beer!?!

You are obviously slacking in your dedication to making the coveted elixir.

I agree. I don't like the season creep in the beer market. The problem is a couple breweries release their early and then by the time the other breweries release, people are tired of that style. That makes more breweries release early thus exacerbating the situation. It's basically like a stock market crash. Everybody follows the trend so that they don't get screwed. This just leads to beers constantly being out of season.

I agree with OP on this one. Having 2 kegs, I occasionally would like a little bit more variety but not 5 gallons worth of it, or would like to try a few different versions of the same style. Oktoberfest this time of year is a good example. I wouldn't have a problem with these beers coming out now, or even a few months ago, but I do have a problem with not being able to find a fresh sixer of O'fest come mid September.

For R&D, it is nice to have it out a bit early, but if you are planning to test out a few O'fests, you really should be doing the testing in Jan/Feb (unless you are making an imperial that should be laid down for a year). Just my 2 cents!

I apologize for not seeing the other thread on this. Also Pheonixs4r... I'm sorry for the sand that got kicked in your vagina!!! I further more thought this was a good spot to air a grievance on GENERAL BEER DISCUSSION. I am really sorry for not drinking exclusively the beers that I brew. I'm simply not blessed with the ability to have a constant pipeline of homebrew in the works. This simply was a mere observation and a slight diversion from the standard "How much did you brew?" or "What's everybody else on the planet brewing today?" If simple discourse and civility are abandoned then there is no hope for diverging opinions...

Don't worry Rats. We are allowed more than one thread on a particular subject. I think phoenix was just manstrating that day or something.
