Optimism about Shelton distro will eventually lead to dissapointment.
Most likely, though it might be better than the almost zero presence we have now. They will at least have their own warehouse here, which I'd hope they decide to stock with their own products, and hopefully decide to sell those products in this market.

Shelton's big relaunch here has basically meant loads of Mikkeller on the shelves, and a single tiny 3F OG & Kriek shipment, which was nice. But good lord there's a ton of Mikkeller turding it up.
That's somewhat on the distributor they signed with and/or the stores placing the orders. Here is the most recent retail list from Shelton:

You don't get everything you order by any means but at my store we ordered a little Mikkeler but focused on other stuff.

This is probably 80-85% of the different beers we received on our first big Shelton order

99 Pissenlit

Very disappointing considering how excited I was for this one.... In spite of the cork disintegrating when opening, the carbonation was perfect. This contributed to a great mouthfeel, but unfortunately that's pretty much where the praise ends. The taste and aroma were both highly oxidized and very minty. It improved a bit as it warmed but the oxidation definitely overshadowed some of the more redeeming qualities.

Was it the worst beer of the night? No. That honor goes to Wineification b1 and Oceanside Daliesque.

Was it better than the fake 2003 OGV we drank as well? No.

Another great experience, but this will probably be my last uber vintage Fantome I seek out. I guess I'll stick to trading for the 5 year old Saisons I always lust for.

I like the floral arrangement, tasteful yet stated. The pop of color is subtle with the abundance of green plants.

Bravo, good sir.

Ahh! Once I went back and re-read what you wrote, I came to peace with my stupidity.
Yeah, there's good reason that a spontaneous beer from SoCal isn't burning up the trade markets. It sucks bad. If it were any good, it would trade at a Cable Car level.

I feel responsible for the unfavorable experience. Sorry for steering you wrong mang. :/

No worries at all! It definitely wasn't an unfavorable experience.

In spite of not enjoying the beer I was able to try something new and share it with good people. Sometimes taste is only part of the equation...

Plus, there's probably another bottle of '99 Pissenlit out there tasting delicious.

If you have bottles of the last Printemps that was released in the USA be cautioned. My ceiling got more beer that my glass. Took a good ounce or so up the nose, herbal goodness.

Sante 17 has improved a bunch, really enjoying it, like a tamer Noel with honey and ginger notes.

How's the Saison that hit distro in December last year (that's when it hit Denver anyways). I've seen a lot of great reviews lately, and I'm anxiously anticipating the bottle I've got.

Even though I knew I should've waited another few months, I buckled and opened one of my two this past Saturday:

This has a lot of the same characteristics that recent "young" Tomes have had for me: Clove, phenolic, thick. This is like the fresh bottles of Dark White and Saison I've had recently.

That being said, there is some good underlying fruit and spice there. I think it'll be very good in another 6 months+. Wish I waited on this one!
