Before I go public to the trade boards, I figured id give the frequenters to this thread first dibs on a potential exchange. Im contemplating trading a bottle of Flop and I really dont know what to ask for in return. Ideally, id like to exchange it for another vintage/one-off Fantome but I dont know if many people are even interested in a 15-16 year old tome and if so, have one of similar age they would want to exchange for it?

I suppose I could let it go for a younger, more common bottle but I guess it would depend what? Thoughts?

This is done. Im very pleased to see it go to a good home in a tome 4 tome exchange.

X-post from the DDT. Tastes like spaghetti? Anyone else had an Artiste Gaëlle Boulanger lately? I've no clue what this beer is supposed to be.

I had one a few weeks back. No hint of spaghetti flavor to me.
I too have no idea what it's supposed to be either, but I really enjoyed it.

I love that this not only sits on shelves, it's on sale so the store can move it. So damn good, nice little spice flavor to complement the sweet and tart thing going on. Will go buy the rest next time I'm at the store.
Please send here. One of my top tomes and it doesnt make too many appearances here.

Finally had my first tome (classic saison), and now I am craving more. How hard is it to trade for some of the more available stuff?

I guess it's on the shelves in parts of the states, so not too hard, but never shows up here in the PNW. Coffee Ruby, Ete 14, Hiver, and Chocolate were all pretty large releases in the last year or so, maybe Dalmatienne too.

Was at a bottle shop this past weekend that I never been to before. They had a case of classic sitting behind the counter with all the other bottles that they were enforcing a purchase limit on. They were $17 a piece. Part of me wanted to laugh knowing I can order a box online and have it be cheaper per bottle delivered to my door but I wanted to support seeing tomes on the shelf in PA. So I said I would like one and they told me no...

They were keeping the case of bottles to offer to sell to the people who didnt win a bottle of bourbon county during their raffle. That made me sad but hey, it seemed fair. But then I saw another person approach the counter, inquire and purchase 2 bottles.

Straight tome rage.

That's when you never return to that bottle shop ever again. It's one thing to keep it behind the counter and only sell to you best clients, it's another to put on display and say your not good enough to purchase. **** those Gobshites!

Give A Man A H̶o̶m̶e̶ 'tome by The Blind Boys of Alabama

Have you ever lost your way
Have you ever feared another day
Have you ever misplaced your mind
Watching this world leave you behind

Won't you
Won't you give
Won't you give a man
Give a man a 'tome

Have you ever worn thin
Have you ever never known where to begin
Have you ever lost your belief
Watching your faith turn to grief

Won't you
Won't you give
Won't you give a man
Give a man a 'tome

In a world that is unwhole
You have got to fight to keep your soul
Some would rather give than receive
Some would rather give up before they believe

Won't you
Won't you give
Won't you give a man
Give a man a 'tome

I'm surprised there is demand for classic where it has purchase limits etc?

In my area, we have not seen any bottles of Fantome in probably 7 years if not longer. Gotta drive at least 2 hours away to hit different distribution areas and even then the options are usually Noel, Printemps or Hiver. Just 1 variety, never more.

Some local guys who I drink with just got "into beer" within the past 3 years. They regularly are in Philly and that is where they do the majority of their beer shopping. Coincidentally, they were with for the occurence that I mentioned above and they commented how that was the first time they ever saw a bottle of Fantome in the wild. The only other place they saw Fantome was at my house.

The Pennsylvania tome struggle is real.
