Can any of you guys help figure out with the date on the below bottle? The guy I obtained it from thought it was from 2009-2011.

No matter the vintage, it sure is enjoyable.

Less carb than last bottle, but. Still has a beautiful flavour. I love this beer, truly never had the same experience in any bottle I ever opened.

Magic Ghost was my first Fantome x years ago, remains my favourite.

Only one more left, but ******* I love this beer. Going to try to sit on it another year, but I think it is peaking. Lemon-Lime on the nose, with nice 'Tomey funk starting to poke through. Definitely lost some of the "Capri Sun-ness" from when it was fresh, but it is just about perfect right now.

I really need to find myself a bottle of this.

Does anyone have clear information about how many batches of Magic Ghost there have been and when they were released? I have bottles that I'm nearly certain were bottled last year (2014) that say "best by 2017" and I have one bottle left that's "best by 2013" which makes me think it would be 2010 if the dating is three years out, but I think someone said earlier in this thread that the first batch was in 2011. Curious whether my bottle is from the first batch and also how many other batches there were between the two I have.

I drank one of these a couple weeks ago. I agree it had lost some of the zesty citrus character it had fresh, but thought it was only just beginning to develop funk. I didn't like it as much as I did fresh but am hoping the funk will develop further and it will get better again and make up for what it lost. I've got a fair number of these left to try over the next however many years so will find out one way or another.

I'm fairly certain 2011 was the first. When we were there in late summer of that year he put it on tap for us and was calling it a new beer. He had been working on it for a while though as I remember him talking about a green beer on babblebelt a while before.

I recently acquired a Saint Roch and just noticed that it does not have a cork. Pictures I've seen online show the bottle as corked, so uh, what's the deal?

The Amazon ones I had earlier this year were cork less - both leaked slightly in transit, but were fine once opened.

Ah ok, so there are occasional corkless Fantome bottles floating around.
Indeed and this isnt a new thing either. I remember Blanche from 05-08 was sometimes corkless. The oldest corkless bottle ive come across was a '98 Destineé and that **** was delicious.

I figure with one man running that operation solo, he might forget a couple or run out. Or, if he has guests assisting like he sometimes does they might get distracted and forget the corking step.

Great, thanks for the insight.

Anyone crack a Sante 19 yet? I only ordered one - and I have no idea why - and I was debating on whether or not I should open it now. After recent flat and ropey bottles of Saison and Ete, I don't want to open my one bottle too early. I did like Sante 18 right out of the gate, though.

Then again, it's Fantome. And right now some bottles of Sante 19 are carbonated and some are flat and some are dark brown and some are gold and dpf[ksgjgiohrmephion

Ive been waiting for the new light dark coffee ruby red brown black whatever it is to appear on etre and then I was going to order a mixed tome case to include both.

I have not read any reports yet on Sante 19. Be a hero and test the waters for us.
