You agreeing with me makes me feel weird.

But it really is. As great it is fresh, I'm really curious what 6-12 months could possibly do to it. There's enough going on with the beer to compensate for any potential loss in coffee in it.
Got a few bottles put aside, including one for FTowne , wonder if he wants it fresh or aged?

Anyone opened a Chocolat recently? One keeps wanting to move to my fridge, but i recall not loving the last bottle i had a few years ago.

2-3 weeks ago I had one and posted a few pages back about it:
The new batch of Chocolate that I sourced from beer30jax 's shelf in FL is pretty good. A little low on carb but not flat.

Awesome classic tome house funk nose (when warm) and the taste is tart/citrusy. I could not detect any signs of the listed chocolate addition but I swear the more I drank it I got a mild warming sensation from the peppers. Wife thought it smelled like burnt peanuts...

I regret only buying 1 bottle.

So wait...the bottles that are showing up recently in the states are a new batch not the same from last year? I thought this was the old "Shelton took a year to finally spread it throughout the USA" trick.

Your understanding is the same as mine. I suppose they are "fresh" in the Fantome sense.

There is a BA review that makes reference to a bottle code and best before 2018 marking on a bottle that was consumed less than 3 months ago. I will have to look at my bottles and see if they have the same markings or if a new batch might have been released.

which one of you buttheads bought the like 50 remianing ete's on etre?

i'm mad as hell :p

Not that I was in the market to buy any more ete...but there was 55 in stock the last time I looked and they arnt there now. This gives me a gigantic sad thinking it might be a reseller that has done this.

So help me God, dont let it come to this...not my beloved tomes. Go back to scalping lambic you **** dicks

Yeah and I *was* in the married to buy some and had been waiting until I was back home from traveling to order. Kept checking to make sure stock never got low then they all disappeared. :(

Im kidding with my prior post Padraig

Herein lies my completely specultive and without any basis of factual evidence guess of what happened to the annual 4 seasonal tome creations.

For 20 years Dany was able to create these 4 beers mixing in the likes of Noel and Pissenlit as well. Along with an occasional offshoot for a special event, fundraiser and/or organization. Along comes the US market and demand for all things new/shiny/exciting and Dany starts losing the ability to create the normal staple seasonals and instead must make for us something new. So, Dany makes whatever new experimental color/sound of the week and loses track of his normal schedule. Hiver and Printemps remain but Autumn and Ete fall to the way side.

Several years later some tomethusiasts start yelling about needing that Autumn/Ete fix so Dany does the best he can and creates a beer caught smack dab in the middle that is neither Autumn nor Ete so he labels it as Ete anyway and we all are happy.

Im joking yet somewhat skeptical/serious about that post. This little rant is the perfect transition into a topic I wanted to start discussing in this thread and thats the missing pieces of recent tome history/releases.

Clos Preal - was suppose to be a 4 part series in the armand style neato bottlings. We got 1&2 and then it died. I think Extra Sour and the dark edition might have been the finishing marks to that 4 part series but donno. This is when that triple creation came out and the great tomescare tire fire started and scared everyone. Time for Dany to reboot and scrap everything starting fresh with new ideas and cleaning the slate? Possibly

Extra Sour Red - what the hell happened to this?

Dany's magic barrel aged creation. What has happened to this or did I just leave the cat out of the bag?

Dany's adventures with monthly collaborations- i think we are just starting to see the fruits of this.

I think the Artist was also supposed to be a series as well right? Also, dark chocolate?
I dont recall dark chocolate but yes, I remember that regarding Artist. Wasnt there even mention of the different bottlings featuring different pieces of that artists work and prints of the featured artwork would be for sale. Man...do stories like this just start as rumors and get fueled by drunken ramblings or is it normal occurance in the beer industry to get that much thought/detail into a project and just **** the bed at 25% completion.

oh....Fantôme strikes again
I <3 u Dany

Fresh off etre with BB 2018 on the side. Its not the majestic fresh herb garden overkill that prior batch(es) were... so thats a plus that Dany toned this one down a bit. Its got some citrus and pulpy bitterness going on with a clean yeastiness. No funk and young tasting but otherwise solid and poundable.
Any reviews on the new Printemps??? Thanks
4 weeks ago I had that to say
