Is added 85 grams of acid malt to a recipe to get the pH I want is an overkill?

I am working on this American Pale Ale recipe and I also use salts to correct the water to a desired level to get the ideal water pH for mashing, but the EZ calculator still puts it in the 5.62 pH zone. Which is not good. It should be between 5.4-5.6. Now.....I dont really mind buying some acid malt and add 85 grams of that to the recipe and that actually lowers the pH to 5.49 which is kinda ideal.

My question is: will it make a difference or am I just throwing out money buying acid malt that might not even make a difference.

If it even improves it a tad bit....I buy it, but I'd like to know the opinion of you guys.
Cheers.

I personally do not believe that messing with ph levels or minerals is worth it on a homebrew scale, but others will beg to differ. It's your money, after all, and in the long run it is true that every little thing you do to make your brew better will count.
