Is .7 IBU/GU too much for hoppy red Ale with 6.3& abv?

Title says it all. I read the article from BYO which said the bigger red ales could have a rate from .7 to 1.0

Brewing today and wondering if I might overhop this bad boy. My brewing friend likes his red ale hoppy.
