I bought some Irish moss to try and clarify my beers. I am brewing all grain beers and have a Polarware pot with a false bottom. If I add it to the boil, is it okay that my false bottom will filter it out as it goes into the fermenter? Should the Irish moss also go into the fermenter?

moss goes in for the last 15 or so minutes of the boil.

It causes proteins in the wort to coagulate together and fall out of suspension.

The moss basically disappears and the effect of the moss is all you get at the end.

I think it does it's work while in the boil. You can usually see the clumping already taking place during wort chilling. That's what I've observed.
