Although IPA is not my favorite, it seems everyone that comes over that knows you're a homebrewer expects a good IPA on tap. I've been trying to get a good House IPA nailed down for a while and think I may be getting close. Wanted to see if there was any feedback. Definitely going for a hoppy one that hits you up front, but has a lot of flavor to back it up. At the same time, some level of drinkability is important for me. I went for a mostly citrus flavor with the Centennial, but was hoping some of the earthiness/spicyness of the glacier would offer a good compliment (without being too complex). I've never bittered with Warrior, but with everything I've read on it + the low cohumulone level, it should offer a well rounded bittering element without being too harsh. Thanks for the feedback

you have an excellent recipe for an ipa, but i might change that hop schedule on the dry hops. i'd just drop in 1-1.5 oz of 1 or the other at 7 days and call it done. i'd also change that 15 minute centennial to 5 minutes

I'd probably cut down on the 60 minute hops. I love IPAs that have a great hoppy flavor, but I don't love intense bitterness from early hop additions. I'd decrease the bittering hops, and add more late flavor/aroma hops.

More like this:
.75 oz Warrior [15.00 %] (60 min) Hops
1.50 oz Centennial [10.00 %] (15 min) Hops
1.00 oz Glacier [5.60 %] (5 min) Hops
1.50 oz Centennial [10.00 %] (0 min) Hops

1.00 oz Centennial [10.00 %] (Dry Hop) Hops -
1.00 oz Chinook [13.00 %] (Dry Hop) Hops -

Thanks for the input. I think I'll move the hop additions for flavor and aroma up as you all have emphasized. Out of curiosity, I thought 20-30 minute point was best for flavor additions, sounds like you all think it's actually 20-10... Is there any benefit to a hop addition around 30 minutes?

Not really, in my opinion. I have a couple of recipes that use them- but that's mostly because I didn't want to get more IBUs while using up some hops. Like, if I don't want to be left with 1/4 ounce of hops, I"ll bitter at 30 minutes to use more hops that at 60 minutes. Otherwise, they are sort of a waste.

Flavor hops tend to give great flavor at 20-15 minutes while I use 5-0 minute additions for aroma hops.

At 100 IBUs you are in the IIPA territory. You might want to scale back to 75 IBU.
